Week 3

As I started to read chapter three of the text, one of the essential topics that the author touched on was effective teachers provide room for spontaneity and time to explore questions and topics that are on the minds of students. I personally couldnt agree more, a great teacher in my opinion is not just teaching your students the material that is taught in a textbook or overhead but really getting the children excitied and engaged in their learning. One way of doing that is by allowing the student to ask questions that they need clearity on or question that they feel to be of importance. When students ask questions they feel apart of the classroom community and it inhances there learning because they will get the answer to whatever problem or issue that was of there concern.

Questions
Do you think it is good for teachers to follow a script
Do you think teachers can effectively teach there students only using technology based learning material. Example, powerpoint etc.
Do you believe when teachers are making study plans should make room or develop time to mistakes and errors if they happen to arise, or do you believe teachers shouldnt be allowed to make errors.

Week 2: This week after watching the videos and reading chapter 1,2, and 3 I can say that I have gained alot of insight into the role that technology plays in our daily lives. I loved watching the videos, the video that I loved the most was ''Growing Up Online'' I was able to relate to alot of the things that were discussed in the video. I often sometimes get distracted by being online and I am very terrible at multitasking, althought its something that I try to continuce to work out. This weeks readings were also interesting I loved the concept of Behaviorism and how it is defined as learning is a set of changes in human behavior, I agree with this statement because everything we have learned has been taught to us and and that learning is a process of memorizing, demostrating and imitating.

Is it a good idea to require students to have labtops in the classroom on the elementary and middle school level?
Is their a such thing as being able to successfully multi-task?
Can our brains successful do to things as once effectively?

First Week!

After the first class I can say that I am very excitied about the class, my week was pretty intense I had alot of homework from my other classes including this one but everything is coming together nicely. It toke me awhile to get this blog up and running but now I have my first blog.

In Chapter one it discussed how technology was a huge influence amoung children, I in my own experience can contest to this when I was younger we did not have cell phones or Ipads now their are so many ways for people to communicate with one another and their are so many ways to access information because of all the new technology that exists today. Children are being born into all these new inventions and I believe that it is imporant that teachers beome technologically advanced inorder to keep up with their students because technology is all around them and in their homes. I think by the teacher becoming up to date with technology it can be used as a way to get her students to become more engaged because its something that they can relate to.

Questions:
1. Do you think in order to be a great teacher you must be very advanced in technology or could you be a great teacher and just know the basics.

2. Do you think it is a good idea for children to be online between the ages of 5-8
