New week : )

In chapter 7 titled problem solving and inquiry learning with software and web tool. I really enjoyed this chapter I found this chapter to be one of the most informative. On page 176 of the text it discusses how problem solving and inquiry learning begin with real world situations and issues to actively engage students. I couldnt agree with this concept more because students learn best when they learn things that can be applied to there everyday life. I think this could also be applied in the way I implement technology in my classroom. The beauty of technology is the range of ideas and concepts the teacher uses to the teach the class. For example, In my classroom I might do a webquest or powerpoint on a topic my students can most relate to on a personal level. I really enjoyed reading about the types of standard software some of the application prior to reading I did not know and others I use on a daily basis. Overall I thought this chapter was very helpful and informative.

Questions for the class

Do you feel center software applications are better than others?

What is your favorite software application and why?

Do you believe a teacher can be effective if he or she does not have extension knowledge of most software applications?
