Hello my fellow classmates!, I hope everyone had a great weekend
In this weeks reading of chapter four my favorite part of the reading was then the author discussed the stages of technology integration. I found this section to be the most interesting because I can relate to every one of the stages. In taking this course has helped and will continue to help me learn new and exciting ways that I can implement technology into my classroom. I am learning so much already for someone that was born in a technnology advanced world compared to many of my freinds i am not technologically advanced to say the least but I no the basics. I also found it to be interesting because I can remember when I was younger I thought my teachers knew everything and now as I have grown and matured I realize we as a people are always learning and their is always something to be taught. Growing up none of my teachers accept for one used any form of technology based learning approaches in reading this chapter I know have many insights into why many of my teachers choose not to. I also found it interesting how it discusses how many teachers are reluctant to incorporate technology into their classroom expecially when teaching new lessons. As someone that is not as advanced in technology as my peers prior to taking this course if I was put into a classroom I would also be reluctant, often times we are nervous or scared of change expecially when we are not fully trained on the task but I want to be a teacher that embraces change not shy away. I believe students can benefit from many leaning styles I feel the more the better.
Questions:
How would you rate your level of computer skills?
When you become a teacher do you plan to incorporate technology as part of lesson plans?
Do you think believe that teachers who are not technologically advanced are as good as teachers who arent and why?
Q1: On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate myself about an 8 or 7 1/2. I'm not a total expert on computers where I'm able to make to make a website from strach. I think I'm pretty updated with the current technologies.
ReplyDeleteQ2: When I personally plan lessons for my afterschool students I do 95% of the time incorperate technology as part of the lesson. That ranges from showing them the infromation to listing out steps they need to follow. I think nowadays more and more teachers incorporate technologies uses into their lessons without actutally realizing it. Like the use of Smartboard, Elmo, and such.
Yes I believe that teachers who arent as technologically advanced are just as good of teachers as others who are. Teaching is not all about technology, its made up of so much more. Your love for children, your drive and what you can bring and enrich childrens lives with. You can do this without the use of technology. I mean, look at all of us, we went through the school systems without so much technology and still had wonderful teachers.
